Molecular Biology Expert – US

Position: Molecular Biology Expert

Type: W-2 Employment through Cincinnatus LLC

Compensation: $70–$105/hour

Location: Remote — United States Only

About the Opportunity

Cincinnatus LLC is recruiting molecular biology experts for a project with a leading AI lab. You’ll use hands-on expertise in DNA and RNA sequence design to develop high-quality AI training data, evaluate model outputs, and establish standards for scientific accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Create challenging molecular biology tasks and accurate, well-documented reference solutions.
\n
• Apply expertise in primer design, plasmids, expression vectors, guide RNAs, mRNA constructs, and DNA repair templates .
\n
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for biological correctness, scientific rigor, and sound reasoning.
\n
• Develop guidelines and rubrics for sequence design quality, including specificity, melting temperature, homology arms, codon optimization, and regulatory elements.
\n
• Identify gaps in AI model reasoning and provide detailed written feedback.
\n
• Collaborate with research teams and other subject-matter experts to maintain training data quality and consistency.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Advanced degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Synthetic Biology, Bioengineering , or a related life science field; a PhD is strongly preferred .
\n
• Hands-on experience designing DNA and RNA constructs before experimentation, including several of the following:
\n
• Primers for PCR, qPCR, and cloning.
\n
• Plasmids and expression vectors.
\n
• gRNA and sgRNA for CRISPR editing.
\n
• mRNA and other RNA constructs.
\n
• HDR and DNA repair templates.
\n
• Experience with cloning strategies such as Gibson, Golden Gate, Gateway, or restriction cloning , and codon optimization.
\n
• Strong peer-reviewed publication record, preferably with first-author publications in leading journals.
\n
• Clear career progression and strong scientific writing skills.
\n
• Availability for at least 20 hours per week on weekdays .
\n
• Ability to explain scientific reasoning and design decisions precisely.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• PhD in a relevant life science discipline.
\n
• Publications in journals such as Nature , Cell , eLife , Nucleic Acids Research , PNAS , or EMBO Journal .
\n
• Previous experience in AI training, model evaluation, or data annotation.
\n

Compensation

\n
• $70–$105 per hour .
\n
• Remote opportunity restricted to candidates located in the United States .
\n
• W-2 employment through Cincinnatus LLC , which serves as the employer of record and provides payroll, benefits, and employment compliance.
\n
• Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week on weekdays .
\n
